BMC to charge for Dharna & Public Meetings in Bhubaneswar

ONI Bureau: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday decided to levy administrative and sanitation charges from agitators sitting on dharna, conducting public meeting and marriage processions to maintain hygiene at public places.

BMC has decided that the agitators sitting on dharna in Bhubaneswar will have to pay minimum Rs 500 per day and Rs 1000 per day for conducting dharna of 100 to 500 persons.

Similarly, for conducting functions and procession, the organisers shall deposit Rs 5000 per day towards sanitation charges.
