Delhi Test ends in Draw; India win Series 1-0

ONI Bureau: Tremendous efforts from Sri Lankan batsmen helped the team to salvage a draw from a game, which was almost lost. With the third Test in Delhi ending in draw, India won the Test series 1-0.

Chasing a victory target of 410, Sri Lanka started on 31/3 and slumped to 35/4 soon. However, Dhananjaya de Silva led the great fightback with a magnificent hundred. He was retired hurt on 119, but ensured that his team did not lose the match.

Roshen Silva 74* and Dickwella 44* added unbeaten 152 runs to prevent any further damage. Sri Lanka lost just two wickets in 87 overs on Day 5. The finished at 299/5 when the match was called off. Virat Kohli was declared ‘Player of the Match’ and ‘Player of the Series’.
