BSE Sensex sheds 176 Points in Early Trade

Mumbai, Jan 4:  A benchmark index of the Indian equities markets, the 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex), on Monday was trading 176.46 points, or 0.67 percent down during the morning session.

The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading 57.70 points, or 0.72 percent down at 7905.50 points.

The Sensex of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 26,116.52 points, was trading at 25,984.44 points (at 9.16 a.m.) in the early session, down 176.46 points, or 0.67 percent from the previous day’s close at 26,160.90 points.

The BSE Sensex touched a high of 26,116.52 points and a low of 25,970.65 points in the trade so far. (IANS)
