Dharmendra Pradhan hails DBTL Progress in Odisha

The Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan expressed his happiness over the progress of Direct Benefit Transfer for LPG (DBTL) scheme in Odisha.

In the state, 40 per cent of the LPG consumers have already enrolled in the DBTL Scheme.

Pradhan said that the enrollment of LPG consumers under the DBTL scheme has touched to 40 per cent in the state and it was only 12 per cent in last 20 days.

The minister said that the state would achieve the target by the end of January and currently the state has touched the national average of 40 per cent.

Dharmendra Pradhan, the minister, reviewed the progress of the DBTL scheme in Odisha in a meeting held in the capital on Monday.

Pradhan told media after reviewing the progress of DBTL registration with the district collectors, oil marketing agencies, bank managers and other through video conferencing.

The minister visited Keonjhar and Balasore districts during the day.

Pradhan said that the number of subsidized gas consumers is gradually increasing ahead of the country-wide launch of DBTL scheme from January 1, 2015.

March 31 , 2015 is the deadline for the implementation of DBTL scheme across the country.
