These skill development projects will be pursued at 22 locations with special focus on the eastern states/ part of the country where NTPC power plants are located. 5000 youths will be trained in various vocational skill sets.
The tripartite MoU was signed by Shri. Pawan Agrawal, IAS, Jt. Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Govt. of India (NSDF), Shri U.P. Pani Director (HR), NTPC and Shri Dilip H Chenoy, MD & CEO, NSDC.
These Programs are linked to the employment requirement of the industries and encourage entrepreneurship through Skill Development Partners like NSDC or its Training Providers. NTPC will provide fund to NSDF (National Skill Development Fund) as per the provisions of the MoU and NSDC will execute the programme as implementing body in selected areas based on the Baseline Survey and Skill Gap Analysis of the population carried out by its Training Partners.
