Singapore, Nov 24: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Tuesday that his government had taken decisive steps to iron out regulatory and taxation issues in the country and invited the Singapore business community to invest in India.

“I have come to assure you that I am there to hold your hand,” Modi said while addressing the India Singapore Economic Convention on the second day of his visit to the city state.

“With the ‘Make in India’ initiative, we are working on all fronts to become a global manufacturing hub,” he added.

Modi expressed the hope that the much-awaited goods and services tax would roll out in India in 2016.  (IANS)
