The Odisha Government announced slashing of tuition fees of private schools. The tuition fee reduction will be applicable from the 2020-2021 academic session.
The government announced the reduction in seven slabs. The schools in Odisha charging tuition fees Rs 6000 per annum will not have any fee waiver. The schools charging between ₹6,001 to ₹12,001 will waive the tuition fee by 7.5 per cent.
Similarly, a reduction of 12 per cent has been announced for schools charging between ₹12,001 and ₹24, 000 annually and 15 per cent for fees for schools charging between ₹24,001 to ₹48,000.
The schools charging fees of ₹48,001 to ₹72,000 will waive 20 per cent. The notification also annouced 25 per cent waiver for schools charging between ₹72,001 to ₹1 lakh fees and 26 per cent for fees above ₹1 lakh per annum,
