ABP News-Nielsen gives BJP Clear Majority in Delhi

The ABP-News Nielsen opinion poll has given the BJP an absolute majority in Delhi Assembly if polls are held now. According to the survey, BJP will win 45 out of 70 seats, while the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) may end up with just 17 seats. The Congress is expected to win just 7 seats.

In 2013 polls, BJP had won 32 seats along with Akali Dal, while AAP won 28 seats. Congress secured 8 seats at that time. Kejriwal formed the government with Congress support, but quit it after 49 days to contest the Lok Sabha polls where the AAP got decimated.

Interestingly, Arvind Kejriwal remains the most favourite person to become Chief Minister of Delhi at 43%, followed by Dr. Harsh Vardhan (39%) and Sheila Dixit (5%). The poll was conducted among 6,409 respondents from across 35 Assembly constituencies between December 4 and 8.

The survey has shown PM Narendra Modi as the most popular leader in Delhi with 58% votes, while 33% respondents backed Arvind Kejriwal. Rahul Gandhi managed to get just 7% of popular votes.
