Police said the hospital told them that the victim, Maneswar Tyagi of Morta, was brought in critical condition and died during medication. He had apparently consumed sulphas, a pesticide used to protect foodgrain from damage.
A hospital official, who identified himself only as Rahul, said the farmer was brought by a family member, Yogesh.
“He held sufficient land and also had an orchard,” Yogesh told the media. The man had reportedly suffered crop losses due to bad weather. (IANS)
