Indians are My Guru: Dalai Lama

Dalai Lama, the Tibetan spiritual leader and Nobel peace prize winner, arrived in Surat on his maiden visit to Gujarat, today.

Talking to reports at the Surat airport, Dalai Lama said that “Indians are my Guru”.

The spiritual leaders, Dalai Lama expressed his greeting and gratitude to Indians. He said “My mind is filled with Nalanda (an ancient Buddhist Monastery) thoughts. That is an ancient Indian institute. So, therefore I consider you Indians as my Guru (mentor) traditionally, historically.

Dalai Lama is on two days visit to Gujarat state to receive ‘Santokba award’ for his social work.

According to a release issued by the organiser Shree Ram Krishna (SRK) foundation, the ‘Santokba award’ is initiated by Govind Dholakiya, Surat based businessman, in his mother’s memory.

Later on Dalai Lama will interact with students of ‘Veer Narmad South Gujarat University’ and Tibetan people residing in Surat.
