The Dosti bus service links New Delhi and Lahore. It was launched on March 16, 1999 by then Indian PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee and his counterpart Nawaz Sharif, who is incidentally the current Prime Minister of Pakistan too. The bus won’t enter New Delhi and Nankana Sahib, as per the latest decision taken by Pakistan.
Passengers leaving for New Delhi and Amritsar from Lahore, will now have to catch the bus at Wagah. Similarly, those arrive from New Delhi, will proceed till Wagah and will have to take a separate bus from there.
The PDTC took the decision following the brutal attack at an Army School in Peshawar on December 16, which killed 150 people, including 142 children.
