Tallying Of VVPAT With EVMs Could Delay The Counting Process Of Votes

The process of counting of votes is expected to be delayed as voter verified paper audit trail (VVPAT) slips will be tallied with EVMs.
For the first time in the history of general election of the country, EVM results will be matched with VVPAT slips to agree with each other. The EVMs will operate for 542 parliamentary constituencies where voting was held. The counting is scheduled to begin at 8:00 am sharp.
As per an Election Commission official, the first process will consume a couple of hours counting the postal ballots manually and then in the end the VVPAT slips will be counted. Further the slips will be matched with the EVM results and if there is a mismatch then the VVPAT count will be the final.

The fate of over 8,000 candidates will unveil tomorrow. ONI wishes the best for the country.
