Nandankanan Zoological Park, in Bhubaneswar reopened after 19 days post Fani with 2,338 tourists visit on the first day.
“The number was verified from the sale of the tickets” said Zoo Deputy Director Jayant Kumar Das.
Although the visitors had to struggle with the extreme heat and no shade due to damage to the trees in the cyclone, they seemed excited and were overwhelmed to see the animals safe and sound.
Fani not only ravaged and ripped apart the affected areas in the State but also damaged the green cover of the only zoo in Odisha.
