In a mega health camp held at JSPL, Angul Occupational Health Centre, more than 254 people volunteered to donate blood. The Camp, inaugurated by Mr. DK Saraogi, Executive Director & Location Head and was organized in collaboration with District Blood Bank, Angul.
Employees, workers and family members of JSPL’s Angul unit, led by Mr. DK Saraogi, Executive Director & Location Head; and Mrs. Sujata Saraogi, President of Jindal Mahila Samiti (JMS) the employees, paid floral tribute to Shri OP Jindal in a programme held at JSPL Campus. Remembering the founder of OP Jindal Group Mr. DK Saraogi said, “Shri Om Prakash Jindal Ji was not only a nationalist but also a visionary, who always stressed on developing technology to compete with rest of the world. His vision of ‘Skilled India, a Strong India’ is the guiding force in JSPL’s sustainable Social Initiatives”.
Smt. Sujata Saraogi, President of Jindal Mahila Samiti donated blood at this mega blood donation camp and distributed food items at Adrut Children Home, Angul, Khirod Vashini Kanya Ashram at Boinda, Nakula Chandra Deaf and Dumb Blind School at Balramprasad, Talcher etc. Akhanda Sri Ram Charita Manas programme was also organized on this occasion. Residents of Jindal Nagar and hundreds of villagers from the periphery villagers and others paid their homage to Sri OP Jindal .
At Tensa in Sundargarh district, a mega health camp was organised on the occasion. More than 1000 people from local villagers availed health service in the camp inaugurated by Mr. Kamalakant Nanda, JSPL Unit Head of Tensa. At Barbil Mr T. S Shanbhogue, the Head of Barbil Unit, employees, workers and hundreds of villagers paid floral tribute to Shri OP Jindal. Shri Manish Kharbanda , Group Head of Mines and Minerals of JSPL said ” OP Jindal is a visionary who brought path breaking innovations to Steel Industry and also steered high impact social reforms”. Food Packets were distributed to 400 Differently-abled Children at Bhubaneswar.
In November 2004, he was conferred with the prestigious ‘Life Time Achievement Award’ for his outstanding contribution to the Indian Steel Industry by the Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry. He was elected thrice to the Haryana Vidhan Sabha and was the Minister of Power in the Government of Haryana at the time of his death. Sri OP Jindal was a Member of Parliament to 11th Lok Sabha.
