CM Naveen Patnaik inaugurates Adivasi Mela 2015

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated 15-day Long Annual Adivasi Mela (Tribal Fair) at Adivasi Exhibition Ground in Bhubaneswar on Monday. For this year’s function, total 164 stalls have been installed to showcase lifestyle, culture and food item belong to 25 tribal communities. The Tribal Fail has been organized by the State Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Department, and it will end on Feb 9. Visitors across the state would visit this fifteen day tribal fair in the capital.

For security, as the state is on high alert, tight security arrangements have been made at the fair. According to media reports, around 32 CCTV cameras have been installed and monitored by security forces.

Besides, tribal goods and products, the department has also organized cultural programmes like dance and music shows for the visitors at the fair. The main objective of the fair is to exhibit and promote tribal culture, tradition, lifestyle and arts and crafts besides sale of their products. Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said that this year more tribal products belong to various community will be exhibited and sold with a good quality.
