Green Initiative at Bhubaneswar Airport

Biju Patnaik International Airport, Bhubaneswar has introduced a Green Initiative under the sponsorship of Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd. (MCL), on Monday.

Under this Green Initiative the Bhubaneswar Airport will start plantation of 5000 plants of 94 different varieties around the New Domestic Terminal Building, in three years. The project will be maintained by Odisha Forest Development Corporation Ltd (OFDC) on behalf of Airport Authority of India (AAI) and MCL. This entire project will be maintained by OFDC, on behalf of AAI & MCL.

The Principal Secretary Forest & Environment, R.K. Sharma, Chairman-cum-Managing Director , MCL, A.N. Sahay, MD OFDC Shraban Ku. Sinha, Airport Director, AAI Sharad Kumar inaugurated in the Green Initiative at Bhubaneswar Airport.

The Airport Director of AAI, Sharad Kumar greeted all the dignitaries present and expressed his gratitude towards MCL & OFDC for joining hands with AAI in raising awareness towards a greener and cleaner environment.

Other officials were present on the occasion were A.K. Tiwari, Director (Tech./Ops.), MCL; P.C. Panigrahi, Director (Personnel), MCL; Josy Francis, Jt. GM (E-E), AAI; B.D. Arukh, Jt. GM (CNS), AAI and Manoj Kumar, DGM (E-C), AAI.
