Speaking at a seminar on ‘Healthcare in Rural Areas-Need of the Hour‘held in the conference hall of IMS, Secretary of Red Cross, Odisha Chapter, Dr. Chakradhar Panda emphasized on the importance of need based health interventions and various preventive measures to be adopted during delivery of health services.
Co-founder and Medical Director of Hello Doctor 24×7, a health portal, Dr. Lalit Ranjan Manik said in order to reach out the people of remote areas, mobile technology should be used properly. Online-based health services can help people to get doctors’ consultation at the door step. Similarly, social media tools can play a great role in this regard.
Management Consultant, Child Health, National Health Mission (NHM) Anindita Pattnaik also spoke on the occasion. Later, students of the institution clarified their doubts from resources persons. Among others, Director of IMS, Prof. Upendra Padhi, faculties of IMS, Dr. Gayatri Patnaik, Raghunath Mandal, Sitendra Kumar Baliarsingh and Manoranjan Panda were present at the seminar.
