Indian Red Cross Society organizes Blood Donation Camp

In order to encourage more young voters to take part in the political process, Government of India has decided to celebrate January 25 every year as ‘National Voters’ Day’. To mark this occasion, on Thursday, Indian Red Cross Society, Odisha state Branch has organized a Blood Donation Camp at Red Cross Bhavan, Bhubaneswar in association with Sate Chief Electoral Officer, Odisha.

In this Blood Donation Camp 56 numbers of donors have participated and 22 of them have donated their blood after proper examination. The Blood Donation Camp was inaugurated by Niranjan Sahu, IAS, Collector-cum-Chairman, District Red Cross Branch, Khordha, Gahadu Mirdha, Additional Electoral Officer, Odisha and Dr. Chakradhar Panda, Honorary Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, Odisha State Branch.

Niranjan Sahu, said that the moral reason to donate blood is to get the joy of saving life and the scientific reason is it keeps the donor healthy and Dr.Chakradhar Panda added to motivate more youths for blood donation for the cause of humanity.  Besides, Govinda Chandra Mahunta, Honorary Join Secretary co-ordinated the programme and Gourimani Biswal assisted in this Blood Donation Camp.
