The programme was formally inaugurated by Dr Minati Behera, Chairperson, State Commission for Women, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Smt Nibedita Nayak, Chairperson of State Social Welfare Board, Odisha presided over the programme. Sri Subas Chandra Panda, Advisor, SNEH, in his welcome address stressed the need for capacity building of the counselors of Short Stay Homes and Family Counseling Centres for better handling of trauma of the victims and their subsequent reintegration with their respective families and the society through conflict resolution.
Clinical Psychologist Smt Madhumita Das imparted training on trauma care and Sri Subas Ch. Panda and Niladri Bihari Sahoo dealt with conflict management, conflict mapping and conflict resolution through negotiation and mediation.
Counselors of 32 Short Stay Homes and 30 Family Counseling Centres participated in this training programme.
