Odisha Not To Conduct COVID-19 Test After Patient’s Death

Odisha has decided not to conduct COVID-19 tests after death of a patient. The Health and Family Welfare department released a notification in this regard. This to ‘avoid undue delay in the release of body and prevent harassment to the bereaved family.’

The Government has also directed the hospitals treating COVID-19 patients to submit the death and investigation reports within 48 hours for audit at the state level.

The administration has directed the hospitals to record the pre-existing diseases, including signs and symptoms at the time of admission.
