The Gayatri Traders in Nabarangpur, which is owned by N. Mohan Rao, has been fined Rs 1.6 crore by the Sales Tax wing of Jeypore division for tax evasion. This is the highest ever penalty imposed on any firm in the Southern region till date. The firm was dealing with cements, iron rods, tin sheets, asbestos etc.
