Hardik Patel Absconding; Nilesh Patel booked for Sedition

Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) chief Hardik Patel, who is at the centre of controversy over his campaign, seeking reservation for Patels, has been on the run after the Gujarat High Court passed the order on a habeas corpus writ and asked the state government to produce him in the country by Thursday.

Hardik Patel held a public meeting in Tenpur village of Bayad taluka in north Gujarat’s Aravalli district on Tuesday. However, he fled from the spot in a vehicle after the cops arrived there to arrest him.

Meanwhule, Hardik Patel’s key aide Nilesh Patel has been arrested from Morbi in Saurashtra. Sedition charges have been slapped against him for “using indecent language for the PM and CM” on social media to incite violence and create enmity between communities in society.
