The incident occurred when Harnish Patel, the owner of a convenience store in Lancaster County, closed his store at 11.24 pm and drove in his silver minivan to his nearby house, and ten minutes later he was shot dead outside his house.
According to the sources, on Thursday night a woman called the police and said that she heard some noise of screaming and gunshots.
Patel was survived by his wife and child in elementary school, who were at home when he was killed.
Patel’s death comes close on the heels of the shooting in Kansas of a 32-year-old Indian engineer Srinivas Kuchibhotla, who was killed when 51-year-old US Navy veteran Adam Purinton opened fire at him and his friend Alok Madasani at a bar before yelling “get out of my country.”
