While former Bihar CM Jitan Ram Manjhi is in Delhi to bargain for more seats in Bihar polls, his younger son Praveen Manjhi, was detained in Jehanabad for carrying Rs 4.65 lakh cash. He was held at a checkpoint at Maqdumpur police station in Jehanabad District. Praveen was later out on bail.
As the Model Code of Conduct is in place in Bihar, no one is allowed to carry more than Rs 50,000 in cash without proper explanation. Praveen clarified that he was taking the money for payment for an under-construction house in Patna.
