Govardhan Peeth Shankaracharya, Swami Nischalananda Saraswati, along with his six disciples, climbed the chariots to worship the deities – Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra. He was initially welcomed by Law Minister Arun Sahoo, who guided him towards the chariots. The sevayats paid him due respect during the entire process. After paying obeisance to the deities, he waved at the people and then left the venue.
