The Times of India has reported that meat found in Akhlaq’s house was mutton, and not beef, as per the reports given by a Veterinary Doctor. Akhlaq was lynched by a mob at Bishada village in Dadri, Uttar Pradesh over rumours of stolen cow, slaughter and beef eating. The issue has snowballed into a national outrage, thanks to media attention.
According to the Times of India, the meat was sample was taken from Akhlaq’s house, was examined by a Veterinary Doctor. He confirmed that it was mutton. However, the sample was sent to a forensic lab in Mathura for double checking.
