What Modi gets for India from 48 Foreign Trips

ONI Bureau: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has been subjected to criticism from opposition and his critics over frequent foreign visits. They accuse him of wasting thousands of crores on unproductive visits for his own personal ambitions. As per the data, Rs 2,021 crore has been spent PM Modi’s on 48 Foreign Trips to over 55 countries since 2014 (including multiple visits to some countries).

So, what we get in return? This is what Modi got for India as per the information provided by Government of India:

– FDI grows from USD 30.93 billion in 2014 to USD 43.48 billion in 2017
– Highest FDI received from Singapore
– Other countries that invested more in India – Japan, Netherlands, USA, UK, Germany, UAE, China, France, and South Korea
– Modi visited these 10 countries between the period of 2014 and 2018.

The total FDI received in the country has gone up by 67% in the last 3 years. Key sectors that witnessed FDI inflow included metallurgical industries, power sector, electrical, computer software and hardware, telecommunications, Information and Broadcasting, automobile, chemicals and fertilizers, drugs and pharmaceuticals, services sector, tourism, and construction.
