India successfully test fires Interceptor Missile at night Off Odisha Coast

ONI Bureau:  India successfully test fired Prithvi Defence Vehicle (PDV) Interceptor Missile off the Odisha coast Sunday night at about 8.05 p.m from Abdul Kalam Island.

It is the first night trial of an indigenously developed Ballistic Missile Defence (BMD) from a defense facility, developed by Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).

With this, India achieved a major milestone in developing a two-layer Ballistic Missile Defence system, defence sources said.

Prithvi Defence Vehicle is an automated operation, radar-based detection and tracking system detected and tracked the enemy’s ballistic missile.
