ONI Bureau: Quoting a BJP leader, a leading TV Channel first broke the news that Congress leaders including former PM Dr. Manmohan Singh and former Vice President Dr. Hamid Ansari held a secret, close door meeting with former Pakistan Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri at Mani Shankar Aiyar’s residence in Delhi a day before he used ‘Neech Aadmi’ jibe for PM Modi, which led to his suspension.
The TV Channel and other BJP leaders linked the “meeting” to Gujarat Polls. And, the Prime Minister did not waste time either. He made it a big poll issue, claiming that the so-called secret meeting was aimed at dethroning his government, sabotage Gujarat Polls and even install Ahmed Patel (Muslim) as the Gujarat CM. He was aided by his Ministers and some TV channels too.
The Congress, shocked and stunned with these allegations, was clueless. They did not know how to respond. The Indian Express took two days to come up with a detailed report that shed light on the event further, while former PM Manmohan Singh issued a clarification and expressed deep anguish over the “propaganda”. However, it was too late for the Congress Party. The PM and BJP took full advantage of the situation.
As we figured it out, former Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri was in Delhi for a seminar on ‘Indo-Pak Aman and Amity’. Khurshid was interviewed by various TV channels too. And, his visit was not a secret affair. He has been a regular to India to attend such Indo-Pak seminars with full permission from the Government.
PM Manmohan Singh admitted that he was also invited to the talks, but did not attend. Dr. Singh attended the dinner hosted by Aiyar at his residence, which was not a secret, close door meeting, but was attended by former Vice President, Ex Army Chief Gen Deepak Kapoor, former Bureaucrats, including Ex Indian Foreign Secretary, Salman Haidar, whose son is married to BJP leader Subramanian Swamy’s daughter.
The guest list at the dinner shows it had mostly those former diplomats, who had served at the Indian High Commission in Pakistan earlier. So, was it much ado about nothing? When the PM of a country levels serious allegations, the world listens to him with due attention. Whatever Congress and Dr. Manmohan Singh say, the PM must prove his charges using his power and resources and punish the guilty without any exception. Or else, his credibility would be at stake!
Even, and outraged Pakistan Foreign Office had to issue a statement, rubbishing all allegations against the country and asked Indian political parties not to drag it for petty political gains and instead try to win polls on own strength.
Let’s admit for a while that Congress colluded with Pakistan with the help of Ex Army Chief, former Diplomats and Journalists to destablise Gujarat and the country. As PM, his Ministers and all his supporters claim this, it must be true!
We, Indian citizens, now want our Government to ban Congress Party, sack Pak High Commissioner, impose Visa ban on former Pak FM Kasuri, arrest Dr. Manmohan Singh, Dr. Hamid Ansari, Ex Army Chief and all other former Diplomats and file sedition charges against them.
Also, let’s sack all NIA, IB and Delhi Police officials including the NSA who failed to prevent such a coup in the heart of Delhi. The MEA and Defence Ministry should be taken into task too for failing to take note of the grave danger.
If PM Modi and the NDA Government do not take any action against such “anti-national” activities and go soft, it would set a bad precedent and security of the nation would be in jeopardy.
