14 Odisha Districts deprived of Crop Insurance Assistance

ONI Bureau: Call it poor governance or lackluster approach of District Collectors, farmers in 14 out of 15 districts that suffered crop damage owing to drought, were deprived of crop insurance assistance.

Angul district was the lone exception, as it managed to get Rs 7.07 crore interim assistance on the basis of the report submitted by the District Administration.

The Government has not yet clarified on this matter. It needs to be seen what action will be taken to undo the damage or farmers would be left to choose their own destiny.
