2 People arrested for molesting Woman at Odisha MLA’s Residence

A driver and a contractor were arrested by Kharavela Nagar Police on the charges of molesting a woman at the official residence of Remuna MLA Govinda Das yesterday. The woman, who had come to appear in an interview in Bhubaneswar, was staying at the guest house of the MLA.

The incident occurred at Govinda Das’ official residence at MLA Colony in Unit-IV area under Kharavela Nagar police station. The accused have been identified as Driver Dillip Behera (Baisingha, Keonjhar) and Contractor Parameswar Das (Chandipur, Baleswar).

The woman hails from Gopalpur in Balasore. She and her father decided to stay at the MLa’s residence after attending the postal examination. In the night hours, Dillip and Parameswar knocked on their door. When the woman opened the door, she was molested and her father was attacked when he protested. They immediately lodged a complaint, prompting the police to take action.
