Inaugurating the Channel, Mr. Naveen Patnaik said, popularity of television news channels are growing day by day. Media is the mirror of society. The Government knows the problems of people through media, which helps government to solve the needs of public”. Expressing his happiness over the launching of Kalinga TV, he said, “Kalinga TV will be helpful to fulfil the hope and aspiration of Odia people”.

Dr. Prasanna Patsani, MP (LS), Bhubaneswar said, “Kalinga TV should take necessary steps towards upliftment of Odia language and culture. Kalinga TV will be more popular among the Odias in the coming year as it is launched at the time Mahaprabhu Shri Jagannath’s Nabakalebar year”.
Priyadarshi Mishra, MLA, Bhubaneswar North (Uttar) said, “Kalinga TV should telecast news in a positive, suggestive and constructive way in view of the Odisha and Odia people’s interest”. In his welcome address Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, Kalinga TV said, “people are getting bored by coming through negative news like corruption, atrocities news everyday in various media. Kalinga TV will present news in a positive manner, which is suggestive and constructive in view of interest of Odisha and its people”.
Himanshu Khatua, Managing Director, Kalinga TV gave the Vote of Thanks. Lastly Raageswari Loomba addressed the gathering by her motivational speech.
Odisha currently has several 24×7 television news channels including OTV, Kanak TV, Focus Odisha, Zee Kalinga, Prameya News7 and Naxatra News. Another 24/7 news channel ETV Odia News will be launched soon.
