Thursday morning witnessed thick covering of fog which disrupted public movement. In such incident owing to the dense fog, a ferry got stuck amidst the Chilika Lake keeping 30 people stranded for a long time.
As per witnesses, the incident took place in the wee hours of the morning while the boat was on its way to Janhikuda from Satapada carrying 30 passengers and 10 motorcycles.
The boat had sailed for 2kms when the steersman failed to locate the direction due to the thick fog. Finding stuck, he then decided to wait until the fog cleared and the direction was visible. All the passengers on the boat were founded to be safe.
