ONI Bureau: Four Maoists (all women) were killed during combing operation by joint team of DVF & SOG Jawans near Dokari Ghati of Narayanpatna in Koraput district last night.
Police seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition, including 10 kit bags and 3 rifles. At least 8 sophisticated weapons were recovered from the spot.
Several Maoist camps were also destroyed during the joint operation. As per the sources, Maoist leader Aruna was heading the team when jawans surrounded them, leading to a gunbattle. Aruna and her associate escaped from the encounter site during the gunfight.
