6 People hacked to death in Odisha for suspected Witchcraft

Six members of a family, including a woman and four children, were hacked to death inside their house at Munda Sahi village in Joda area of Keonjhar district for suspected witchcraft. The victims were lying in a pool of blood when the cops led by SDPO of Badbil, reached the spot.

Two other members of the family were seriously injured in the mass killing. They are being treated at the District Headquarters Hospital in Keonjhar.

Preliminary investigation reports suggest that the tribal family was targeted by the villagers, as they suspected them of practising sorcery or witchcraft. The villagers have fled, fearing police action. A massive manhunt has been launched to arrest the culprits.
