All siksha sahayaks teachers, a category of primary school teachers have asked to submit their Odisha Teacher Aligibility Test pass certificates to the district authorities by March 2013. They all appointed in 2012 across the state.

Orissa High Court ordered in August 2012, to complete the engagement process of siksha sahayaks on the condition that the future renewal of engagement shall be subject to submission of OTET pass certificate on or before March 2013.

School and Mass Education (SME) Secretary Ranjana Chopra has written to all District Collectors to terminate the Sikhya Sahayaks (contractual teacher) that have not submitted their Odisha Teachers Eligibility Test (OTET) qualifying certificates.

The school and mass education department ordered all district collectors to review the issues and submit the details of report that how many siksha sahayaks have cleared the OTET. That will affect nearly 8,000 siksha sahayaks in the state.
