“A large number of trauma victims succumb to their injuries due to unavailability of proper critical care support on the spot or well-equipped transfer facility to trauma care centre within the golden hour, which is the first one hour of trauma. The whole idea is to provide immediate life support to these patients adequately before they are admitted to the hospital, minimising the time lag in the process. This quick ambulation maximises chances of patient stabilization and reduces the occurrence of fatal consequences subsequently. Our ambulance patrol service has an average mobilisation time of 5 minutes within which it heads off to the site of emergency in order to attend to the patient with its sophisticated medical equipments for pre-hospital care. It then transfers the patient to our round-the-clock Emergency Department with its dedicated trauma team comprising Emergency Physicians and consultants specialised in Emergency Medicine. ” said Admiral Salil Kr.
