Angul Bus Accident: Govt forms 3-member Committee for detailed Report

In yet another tragic road accident in Angul area in the span of one month, six persons died and 34 got injured when a private bus ‘Janhamamu’ collided with a bike and fell off a bridge near Tukuda under Jarpada block in Angul district on Tuesday.

While the injured were shifted to nearby hospitals, critically injured patients were shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.

In this connection, the State Government has formed a three member committee to take stock of the situation. The members of the committee include Angul Sub-Collector, Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) and Regional Transport Officer (RTO). The Committee will submit its report by Wednesday.

Meantime, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced Rs 2 lakh ex-gratia to the kin of the deceased and free treatment to the injured passengers.
