As Odisha Schools Reopen, 26 Teachers, 2 Students Test Positive For COVID-19

At least 26 teachers and two students have tested positive for COVID-19 as Odisha schools re-opened for students of Classes X and XII. All the cases were reported from Gajapati district.

The schools had re-opened on January 8 across the state as per COVID-19 protocols. On Friday, 17 teachers were found positive. Nine more COVID-19 positive cases were reported on Saturday.

Out of the 26 cases, 21 cases belong to Mohana block in Gajapti district.

Meanwhile, in Keonjhar district the salaries of staffs of five schools was withheld after the District Education Officer found violation of COVID-19 guidelines.
