ONI Bureau: While raising doubts on a poll survey by ABP News that predicted 15 out of 21 Lok Sabha seats for BJP in 2019 polls, former MP Baijayant Panda said, “even if there is a potential, it won’t happen on autopilot mode”.
Mr. Panda called the survey “audacious”, probably due to the fact that BJP had won just one seat in 2014 despite the ‘Modi Wave’. He believes a lot will depend on whether the challenger (read BJP) has the guts to truly fight the incumbent (BJD & Naveen Patnaik) or not.
“Only speaking against the sharp rise in crime & corruption won’t help. They (BJP) need to act on it”. It is being speculated that Baijayant Panda is not happy with the soft attitude adopted by central BJP towards the BJD due to their political compulsions.
His tweet is being discussed and debated from various angles. Political pundits believe that he is unlikely to go with the BJP at this juncture.
