The construction company, Dilip Construction Pvt Ltd responsible in the Bhubaneswar airport mishap has been directed by the Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) to provide compensation of Rs 2.5 lakh to the family of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured person in the mishap.
On Jan 24, an under-construction roof joining Terminal 1 and 2 of the airport collapsed at around 11 in the night. A labourer died on the spot while another was critically injured and rescued under the rubbles.
OHRC has instructed airport authorities to ensure the compensation amount being provided to the victims. And in case the construction company fails to pay the amount, the exact amount to be deducted from the bill the airport owes to the company.
