BJD on course to ensure Congress-mukt Ganjam

ONI Bureau: As reported by us ahead of Bijepur Bypoll, senior Congress leaders in Ganjam district are all set to join the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) along with workers, which would virtually ensure a Congress-mukt Ganjam.

Former Union Minister Chandrasekhar Sahu and Bikram Panda & Bhagwan Gantayat are all set to join BJD on April 4. Thousands of grassroot-level workers of Congress in various parts of Ganjam have reportedly extended support to them.

Meeting with Congress workers, is just an eyewash. The leaders had already taken a decision way back in February. However, they don’t want to upset the fans and supporters.

It would be interesting to see how senior BJD leaders in Ganjam district and their core supporters react to the entry of these leaders into the party fold. Chandrasekhar Sahu may get a ticket from Aska Lok Sabha seat, while Bikram Panda could be fielded from Berhampur Lok Sabha/Assembly seat.
