BJD’s ‘Mahanadi Suraksha Abhiyan’ continues to roll

ONI Bureau: Odisha Chief Minister and BJD party supremo Naveen Patnaik flagged off a people’s movement from 16 May billed as ‘Mahanadi Suraksha Abhiyan’ a campaign to protect Mahanadi- the lifeline of Odisha.

As per report the Abhijan will cover 15 districts involving 45 assembly constituencies and nearly 1,600 km and conclude at Paradip in Jagatsinghpur district after eight to 10 days. The campaign was launched on both sides of the river from Ambavona and Lakhanpur in Bargarh and Jharsuguda districts.

The main aim of the campaign is to sensitize people about Centre’s partisan attitude towards Odisha with regard to Mahanadi as Odisha is a non-BJP ruled State.
