Mohanty alleged that the ruling BJD government in the state had failing over its promises made during the elections. He alleged that the party did not fulfill their promises made manifesto – offer crop loans with around 1 per cent interest to farmers and social welfare scheme for unmarried woman of 30 or above age. Despite completing more than a year time, the BJD government failed to implement its promises, he alleged. Prior elections, BJD has promises to give employment opportunity to around one lakh youth, but did not take any measures in this regard, Mohanty said. All the failures of the state government would be highlighted during the ‘Satyagaraha’ by BJP members, he said.
At the press conference, Vice President of BJP state unit, Prithviraj Harichandan said that the state government has not taking measure over the drought like situation in the state and not paying any heed to farmers’ plight. He alleged that state government of assessing the drought situation of affected districts. He said that the chief minister is looking after the irrigation departments despite more than 50 per cent of LI points are defunct. He alleged the state government over deteriorating law & order, education and unrest at many campuses. All these issues would be highlighted in ‘Satyagraha’, he added.
