BJP Worker killed in pre-poll violence in Odisha’s Dhenkanal

Passions ran high, as a BJP youth worker was shot dead by miscreants during a pre-poll violence in Tarabha village in Dhenkanal district of Odisha. The deceased was identified as Salman Rout.

After being shot, he was rushed to District Headquarters Hospital in Dhenkanal where he succumbed to his bullet injuries. Villagers of Tarabha blocked the road demanding the arrest of the accused. District Collector went to the spot to take stock of the situation. Police forces have been deployed in the area to maintain law and order.

BJP has condemned the killing and alleged that the accused is a close aide of BJD MLA and nephew of BJD’s Block Vice Chairman.
