BMC plans for 7 new drains to tackle water-logging situation

ONI Bureau: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) is planning to construct seven new drains across the Capital city to address the water logging situation.

As per the report, the new drains will be constructed at Ananta Vihar Pahse-II in Ward No 62, Dumduma Housing board colony Phase-IV in Ward No 65, Jagannath Vihar Plot No. 387 to Plot No. 59/553 (Lane-3) in Ward No 24 and Bhagabat Sandhan area in Ward No 19, backside of OMFED to drain channel no.1 via Guru Kelu Charan Mohapatra Park Road.

Alongwith the construction, renovation work will be done for drainage channel no.5 backside of Sriya Talkies in ward no-42, improvement of drainage system in Ahalya Nagar area in ward no-3.

With an investment of over Rs 9.45 crore, these new drainage structures would enable discharging of water from waterlogged localities in an effective manner.

BMC introduced BMC Water Helpline number 0674-2432281 which is working on 24X7 basis to address people with the quick action teams.
