Central Team visits Nagada, praises Odisha Administration

The five-member central team, which visited Nagada village in Jajpur district today, has termed the steps taken by the administration as ‘satisfactory’. The team said it was not easy to provide any support to people in such an inaccessible region, but the administration has definitely done a commendable job.

The team also admitted that there was a delay in reaching out to people in Nagada and the development work must be expedited. But, they also said Odisha is not the lone state in India to have Nagada-type villages. “We have many such villages in the country that need immediate action,” Arun Singh, a member of the team said.

The Odisha Government had swung into action following the death of 19 malnourished children in Nagada. Efforts are being made to provide better food, clean drinking water and other facilities. Construction work is going in full swing to get better road connectivity to Nagada.
