Chit Fund Scam in Odisha: Commission submits Interim Report

The Justice MM Das Commission submitted an interim report to the State government regarding the multi-thousand crore chit fund scam on Wednesday. Debraj Rout, secretary to the Commission submitted the report before the State Home Secretary Asit Tripathy.

It is to be noted that, the Commission has received about eight lakh affidavits and identified as many as 26,976 small investors who have deposited thousands of rupees in the Ponzi Scheme.

The Commission has made some recommendations as how to return the money to smaller investors in the chit fund companies.
