CM Naveen Patnaik approves Rationalization of 905 Police Posts

In a bid to strengthen the police force in the state, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday approved rationalization of 905 posts in Odisha police. The rationalization will aid in better crime control and efficient delivery of citizen-centric services, a statement from the CMO said.

The rationalization process will also create six new police stations in various districts by bifurcating the existing ones.

The existing police stations which will be bifurcated are Khandigiri police station Bhubaneswar, Angul Town Police station, Jharsuguda Town Police Station, Bhanjanagar Police Station in Ganjam, Bhadrak (Rural) Police Station and Tihadi Police Station, Bhadrak.

This rationalization will also help in strengthening of 220 police stations and six outposts in 21 districts.
