Cuttack Sishu Bhawan Death Toll rises to 41, Health Minister Unfazed

Six more infants died at Sishu Bhawan, Cuttack today, taking the toll to 41 in the last 8 days. The central team will visit Cuttack tomorrow to take stock of the situation. The decision was taken by Union Health Minister JP Nadda on the request of Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Even as the situation goes from bad to worse, Odisha Health & Family Welfare Minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak remains unfazed. He neither offered to resign, taking moral responsibility nor showed any seriousness or urgency to deal with the matter other than taking excuse of ongoing probe.

The healthcare system at Sishu Bhavan is completely in shambles. The problem lies in outdated system and infrastructure. Lives of the kids are in danger. They are being killed due to lack of facilities. But, neither the CM nor the Health Minister are bothered. Seems they are bowing to the external pressure to allow corruption as well as mismanagement happen.
